SAGE COURSE
This course demonstrates the basic accounting features common to all software in the Sage Line 50 range. Course participants will learn how to operate the core accounting functions of a business using this software.
This is a hands-on course for participants where the instructor will use a case study approach to deliver the course and expose the participants to practical accounting using the Sage software and leading to the preparation of management and financial accounts.
Course outline:
Installation of the software and setting up a company Introduction to the Sage Line 50 environment
Creating customer / supplier records
Entering opening balances and processing ledger transactions
Basic transactions in the nominal ledger
Running the VAT return and accounting for VAT
Running basic ledger reports and the trial balance
Housekeeping routines and error corrections
Assumed knowledge for course participants:
A basic knowledge of bookkeeping is essential
Familiarity with the use of computers and the operation of the Microsoft Windows environment is desirable.
Foundation Course:
The Access route is suitable for students who do not satisfy the direct entry requirement set out by the university. It prepares you with the skills for higher education study in the United Kingdom. To improve your levels of listening, speaking, reading and writing of English in order to cope effectively with academic demands at degree level, knowledge and understanding in the subject area you intend to study at degree level, understanding of British cultural themes and help you to integrate into the higher education system, to provide relevant study skills and lay a suitable academic foundation for further study.
Progression Level: Upon successful completion of the course, students can study first year bachelor's degree programme in Business, Marketing, Computing, Travel & Tourism and Hotel Management at any prestigious institution.
